Bonnie tests a special 82-inch Ergonica Weed Twister to seek and destroy weeds from her raised flowerbed. Like Sir Lancelot with a long lance, Madame Bonnie on her trusty motor-driven wheelchair threatens any weed that comes into view. Other garden tools cannot reach into some areas of this flowerbed. We designed this prototype Wheelchair Weed Twister based on Bonnie’s requests. The standard 48-inch Weed Twister is available for purchase at ergonica.com and is suitable for most weeding jobs for disabled gardening from a wheelchair. If your path is close to a raised bed, you may have easy access with the smaller 42-inch and 36-inch Weed Twister models, as well. Most other weeding tools and weed pullers either require foot levers or do not lift up removed weeds for easy disposal in one operation, as does the Ergonica Weed Twister. Many garden tools are just too heavy and clumsy to work from a wheelchair. With this tool you have a choice, either pay a gardener to remove your weeds, or do it yourself and save a few bucks! Also a great way to get some vigorous exercise, as shown so well by Bonnie. More elbow grease may also mean less dangerous chemicals in your garden. We would love to hear suggestions for the ideal length of this adaptive garden tool from other folks in wheelchairs, paraplegic and quadriplegic gardeners? See weedtwister.com for more details about these tools. Do you need a 5 ft. tool? or 6 ft. tool?
